Request for Comment Period Now Open on Three Latest ISAO SO Documents
San Antonio, TX— The Information Sharing and Analysis Organization Standards Organization (ISAO SO) today announced a Request for Comment period for three new documents. Members of the public have until Friday, May 5 to provide comments on the latest round of draft publications released by the ISAO SO on April 20. To provide comments, click here.

ISAO SO Special Publications are documents authored by the ISAO SO working groups. These documents are designed to be shorter than the ISAO SO General Publications while addressing specific topics to meet the needs of information sharing organizations. The Special Publications included in this Request for Comment period include:

“Our working groups have been a driving force in creating publications for use by information sharing and analysis organizations,” said Dr. Gregory B. White, Executive Director, ISAO SO. “This opportunity for public feedback will strengthen the documents as we continue to equip the information sharing community with these guideline publications. While these three Special Publications are available for comment, our working groups continue their development process of future General and Special publications.”

The ISAO SO published four initial voluntary guideline documents in September 2016 on isao.org. These publications were developed with the support of over 160 industry experts in response to Presidential Executive Order 13691 to provide guidelines for effective information sharing and analysis related to cybersecurity risks, incidents, and best practices.

The latest round of documents has been developed by three ISAO SO working groups using an open and transparent consensus-driven development process. Working groups will consider and adjudicate all comments received following the May 5 deadline.

“We continue to welcome public comment and engagement in the development of our guidelines,” said Rick Lipsey, Deputy Director, ISAO SO. “Request for Comment periods are critical to the success of the information sharing community. The ISAO SO aims to bring together comments and expertise from industry, government, and academia to ensure these documents are valuable, useful and ready for implementation by established, emerging, and new ISAOs across the country.”
