ISAO Standards Organization Hosts Online Public Meeting
San Antonio, TX—The Information Sharing and Analysis Organization Standards Organization (ISAO SO) hosted an online public meeting on June 23 with attendees from multiple industry sectors, government, academia and the general public. The ISAO SO discussed the progress in the development of the ISAO Manual Version 1.0 and announced another upcoming comment period and a fall in-person meeting. These monthly public meetings are designed as an opportunity for the general public to provide feedback and comment to the ISAO SO and leadership team.

“Public feedback and collaboration is critical to the success of the development of standards for Information Sharing and Analysis Organizations. This meeting represents another step forward in the development of these standards,” said Rick Lipsey, Deputy Director, ISAO SO. “We’re pleased with the active participation of over 150 working group members and appreciate the additional feedback received from representatives of the cybersecurity ecosystem at large.”

Highlights of the meeting included an overview of the current project status, upcoming timeline and next steps for the ISAO SO. These future steps include the fostering of information sharing and analysis, an increased emphasis on public outreach, development of ISAO support services, and creation of a resource library.

The meeting closed with a question and answer session focusing on the 90 comments the ISAO SO received on the initial draft documents, the definition of an ISAO, and the concept of ISAO certification. Slides and recordings are available on our June 23rd meeting page.

The next online public meeting will be held on July 21. This will be followed by an in-person public meeting on September 1 in Tysons, VA. Visit our Upcoming Events page to learn more about future public meetings.
