US-CERT strives for a safer, stronger Internet for all Americans by responding to major incidents, analyzing threats, and exchanging critical cybersecurity information with trusted partners around the world. This document provides guidance for information sharing of cyber threat indicators and defensive measures. This guidance also explains how to share that information with federal entities through the Federal Government’s capability and process that is operated by DHS. Furthermore, it explains how to share such information with DHS and other federal entities—including law enforcement—through other means authorized by the Act, and discusses the various legal protections the Act provides for such authorized sharing
