The ISAO SO and the Cybersecurity Ecosystem

The ISAO SO and the Cybersecurity Ecosystem
The Information Sharing and Analysis Organization Standards Organization (ISAO SO) has been tasked to improve the Nation’s cybersecurity posture by identifying standards and guidelines for robust and effective information sharing and analysis related to cybersecurity risks, incidents and best practices. We rely on collaboration across the entire cybersecurity ecosystem to create voluntary standards. Our process has remained consistent: our working groups use a transparent consensus standards development process to take into account feedback from the ecosystem at large.

The cybersecurity ecosystem is vast and far-reaching: we welcome input from all participants—academia, government, corporate and members of the public. Each voice in this ecosystem contributes value to the products we are developing. Inputs are openly vetted by our Standards Working Groups in our consensus standards development process.

We released initial draft documents on May 3rd, and we welcome all comments through June 17th. We encourage all members of the cybersecurity community to contribute their feedback.

Our working groups and leadership teams have made great strides thus far, and we are committed to providing ongoing opportunities for public comment and debate. Your thoughtful inputs and constructive suggestions are important to the development of effective voluntary standards and guidelines. The only way we will be able to fulfill our mission of creating a more secure Nation is with participation and input from all members of the cybersecurity community.
